Sixth Annual Share Mardi Gras Gala Benefits Hungry & Homeless
Vancouver, WA –Share will host its sixth annual Mardi Gras Gala & Casino Night, Sat. Feb. 20, 2010, 5 to 10 p.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 West 6th Street. Tickets are $75 per person, which includes gaming scrip.
“The Mardi Gras Gala has become a hallmark event for Share,” said Diane Christie, Executive Director Share. “The delicious food, casino games and fabulous auctions items have continued to draw hundreds of attendees year after year. But we know that everyone’s true motive for attending is to help raise funds for hungry and homeless families and individuals in our community – and for that we are grateful.”
The evening includes a New Orleans-style dinner and wine, casino-style gaming, prizes and both a silent and live auction in support of Share.
Live auction items include a two-night stay at the Mount Bachelor Village Resort, a 46-inch flat screen TV with matching arm chairs, a two-night stay at The Resort at the Mountain in Welches, OR, a two-night weekend stay at the Columbia Cliff Villas in Hood River, OR, a ‘Cooking in Style’ package complete with Weber grill, stainless steel cooking tools and a Butcher Boys gift certificate, plus two “Bucket List” packages: one that includes a climb of Mt. St. Helens, a gift certificate to get a tattoo, adventures on zip lines and white water raft on the McKenzie River; as well as another that includes seeing the Pacific Northwest from a Hot Air Balloon, learning how to ballroom dance, learning about the relaxing sport of fly fishing and taking a tour of a wolf sanctuary. The silent auction includes more than 120 items including gift baskets, trip packages and gift certificates.
Last year’s event raised a gross total of $95,000, including $32,000 raised during the Special Appeal – with help from a $15,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor – to help those impacted by hunger and homelessness in Clark County.
