Saving money for future needs can be difficult, if not impossible, for people struggling to keep up with daily living expenses and obligations. Share’s programs cover the continuum of issues facing those that are hungry, homeless or low-income. While emergency needs are met with our hunger, outreach and shelter programs, Share also provides longer term solutions with the ASPIRE transitional and permanent housing program and the Individual Development Account (IDA) Program.

Share’s IDA Program is designed to help people save money for a future asset—like a down payment on a home, starting a business, pursuing higher education or purchasing a car or computer. And asset accumulation can help people move out of poverty.

Since the IDA Program’s inception in 2007, 15 individuals have graduated (10 home ownership, three vehicles, 1 computer, 1 education); 49 individuals are currently active in the program. Learn more here.
