Share-a-Bowl

Share’s 10th annual Share-a-Bowl fundraising dinner was a great success! More than 300 people attended to sample fantastic soups and help raise awareness and money for Share’s Hunger Initiative.
The 2010 event featured local chefs competing with attendants choosing the best soup – plus everyone took home an artisan soup bowl as a keepsake (bowls were crafted by local artist Michael Metz). Executive Chef Troy Lucio from Gray’s at the Park was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Best Soup for his Roasted Garlic Tomato Basil.
Featured Chefs:
• Muffin Batiste from Le Sous Chef: Vegetarian Minestrone
• Stephanie Cerame from Whole Foods Market: Guatemalan Chicken Stew with Tomatillo Sauce
• Troy Lucio from Gray’s at the Park: Roasted Garlic Tomato Basil

The evening’s program also included the presentation of the 2011 Emily Marshall Volunteer of the Year Award to Joan Caley. Four additional people were recognized as volunteers of the year: Vicki Erickson, Carla Feltz, Susan O’Shea, as well as David Slocum and Judy Enders.
This Marshall award honors long-time Share volunteer, Emily Marshall, who passed away in August 2007. In honor of her legacy, Share will annually recognize an individual who has displayed outstanding efforts to foster Share’s mission of serving the hungry and homeless in Clark County.
