Share Honored with Excellence Award

The Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington hosted an inaugural event on Sept. 13 to present Nonprofit Excellence Awards (NEA) that “highlight the impact of organizations whose business is our common good.” Share was nominated in the category of “Impact Award,” by providing a service or program that has demonstrable and measurable impact on the issue being addressed.

Share was a co-winner of the award, along with Children’s Center, and each organization was awarded $500. The third finalist for the award was Columbia River Mental Health.

In his opening remarks, the event’s ambassador of ceremonies said, “A community is only as strong as the organizations that serve it. That is true in the best of times, but also during the challenging times, which we are surely experiencing right now.”

We at Share agree with that sentiment and are honored to have been nominated along with a group of such outstanding finalists, including Northwest Natural Products, nominated for the Corporate Community Support Award. Owners Kate and Marty Rifkin have been long-time supporters of Share, as well as other local non-profit organizations.

We extend congratulations to all the finalists and thank them for everything they do for men, women and children in our community.
