• 3,411 volunteers gave their time in support of Share programs, totalling 77,258 hours to our programs—over 13,000 more hours than in 2009. In all, our volunteers provided $1,636,324* of service to our organization—and we can’t thank them enough!
( * The Independent Sector (a nonprofit group) has calculated that the value of a volunteer hour in Washington State is $21.18.)

• 103,000+ meals served through the Hot Meals Program.

• Share ASPIRE served an average of 100 households each month and maintained a 70% success rate in moving individuals and families into permanent housing; in 2010, 47 households successfully graduated from the program.

• Share’s annual fundraising events—Mardi Gras Gala, Share-a-Bowl Soup Dinner, Hoops on the River Basketball Tournament and Fire in the Park—raised a gross total of $201,077 in support of Share’s programs.

• 630 children were enrolled in and 9,483 meals (breakfast & lunch) served at SummerSLAM, while 900 children, and their families, were served through the Backpack Program; community demand for both programs continues to increase.

• Since 2008, Share’s IDA program has seen 27 individuals graduate and made purchases: 14 homes, 8 vehicles, 2 education, 2 their own business, and 1 a computer.

• The Holiday Cheer Program served 2,852 people, handed out 12,000 gifts and helped 608 families through Adopt-a-Family in 2010; we also distributed 41 Welcome Home Boxes and 118 Birthday Boxes.

For 30 years, Share has been a beacon of hope for those who are hungry, homeless or who need a helping hand. We are dedicated to addressing the needs of homeless individuals, families, and the community at large, and are taking steps now to meet the challenges that will influence our effectiveness in the future. We encourage you to give in any way that you can—a bag of nonperishable food items for the Backpack Program, a donation of gently-used clothing to help keep someone warm during a cold night on the streets or an hour of your time to help serve a warm and nutritious meal.

We thank you for your continued support of our organization, giving Share the necessary means to continue providing vital, daily living services to the most needy of our community.
