Share Holiday Cheer Program

Share it:

‘Share’ the holidays with our community!

You can help in a variety of ways: Adopt-a-Family, Giving Tree, donate new gifts for Share’s Holiday Party, donate items for holiday food boxes or make a financial contribution.
Donate Gifts. Some of the new items needed include: clothing for men, women, teens and children (all sizes), housewares (dishes, pots and pans, towels, linens, etc.), personal hygiene items (soap, lotion, perfume/cologne, combs, etc.), sleeping bags, age appropriate gifts and toys for teens, children and infants, as well as board games for all ages. Gift cards from any grocery store, clothing store, music store, movie theater, etc. as well as gas cards are also a wonderful gift. Adopt-a-Family. Each year, Share relies on the generosity of our community to adopt hundreds of families in our ASPIRE/transitional housing program and our Housing & Essential Needs (HEN) program. It’s simple: you will receive a list of gift items requested by the family, you purchase the items and deliver them to Share. Click here to learn more: Adopt-a-Family Program Details

  • Please do not wrap your gifts. We need to check each item before giving it to our clients.

Organize a Giving Tree. Hosting a Giving Tree at your business, club, church or office to collect gifts is a simple, creative, and tangible way to help families in our community. Share provides hang-able gift tags and suggested items for different age groups. You can display the tags as ornaments on your Giving Tree in a common space, or do something new and creative with them that inspires the holiday spirit. • Gifts should be delivered to the Share Fromhold Service Center, 2306 NE Andresen Road, by appointment only, dates will be posted in November
  • Giving tree tags and gift wish lists: pick up dates will be posted in November
  • If you are unable to pick up your tags, we will mail them; date to be posted in November
  • Please do not wrap your gifts. We need to check each item before giving it to our clients.

Fill a Holiday Food Box. Donations of cash and gift cards to local grocery stores are needed to purchase turkeys and other perishable items for Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes. Click here for a list of needed items: Share Holiday Cheer Program Food Box Needss

  • Non-perishable food items can be donated and delivered to the Share Fromhold Service Center, 2306 NE Andresen Road.
  • Perishable food items must be donated at one of our shelters: Share House, 1115 W 13th Street; Share Orchards Inn, 5609 NE 102nd Avenue; or Share Homestead 4921 NE Hazel Dell Ave.

Each year, Share hosts two holiday parties: one for single men & women, one for families; both parties are free to attend and open to the public. Food, music, a visit from Santa and a gift for everyone who attends are all part of the festivities. Note: clients, including children, must be present at the party to receive presents.
